Saskatoon receives help for affordable housing from CMHC

A local developer, Innovative Residential Inc., was aware that the City of Saskatoon planned to redevelop McNab Park, a former Royal Canadian Air Force base, into a business park. The developer acquired the option on the buildings, preventing their demolition and enabling the company to move the buildings to a new location later. Camponi Place was the first project approved under the new Mortgage Flexibilities Support Program, an initiative established by the City of Saskatoon in partnership with Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC), Innovative Residential Inc. and the Saskatchewan Housing Corporation to help stimulate the production of affordable housing in the city. CMHC also provided Seed Funding to help develop the business plan.
