Bernard Hickey delivers a Housing Report in association with ASB explaining how longer term wholesale interest rates are edging up in anticipation of rises in the Official Cash Rate next year. This will flow through into higher fixed mortgage rates as we go through 2009 and into 2008. Bernard also looks at the Fixed vs Floating choice as interest rates change. I have half the mortgage floating and I’m piling cash into it to pay it off in just over 2 years. The other half is fixed and will go variable when the other is paid off.
