Risk Management Professional – What Do I do?

Thanks for clicking ‘like’ on my Facebook page. I get asked a lot, what is a risk management professional? What do you do? Well, essentially my job is, no matter what happens to you in your life, you, your family and your loved ones are protected. So there is a diagram on the screen right now that goes through all of the different things we look at. In the top corner is your life. If you were to pass away tomorrow would you family and your loved ones be able to live the life that they were supposed to. Would they be able to keep the roof over their head and would they be able to keep food on the table? Now there are a lot of different parts that go into that but on the left hand side of the page here there are a couple different links — Mortgage insurance vs individual insurance, permanent insurance vs term insurance that you might want to check out. The next thing we look at is disability. Disability is anytime you can’t go to work because of sickness or injury. Did you know that one in three people will actually be off of work because of work because of sickness or injury in their working lives? It’s probably pretty important. So what is disability? Well it actually pays you a monthly benefit so that you don’t have to go to work and you can keep that roof over your head and the food on the table even though you can’t to go work. What is the next part we look at? The next part is the critical illness part. This is something that a lot of people haven’t heard of, again …

Saskatoon receives help for affordable housing from CMHC

A local developer, Innovative Residential Inc., was aware that the City of Saskatoon planned to redevelop McNab Park, a former Royal Canadian Air Force base, into a business park. The developer acquired the option on the buildings, preventing their demolition and enabling the company to move the buildings to a new location later. Camponi Place was the first project approved under the new Mortgage Flexibilities Support Program, an initiative established by the City of Saskatoon in partnership with Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC), Innovative Residential Inc. and the Saskatchewan Housing Corporation to help stimulate the production of affordable housing in the city. CMHC also provided Seed Funding to help develop the business plan.
